This International Disaster Mitigation Forum provided public-sector organizations in the region the opportunity to become trained in - and network and exchange ideas on - the best applications available in Disaster Mitigation techniques, technologies, and services. Participants were asked to speak on their experiences and to be ready to participate in informal discussions. Teams of government leaders who have pioneered new applications in the Disaster Mitigation field and their private-sector partner organizations reviewed alternatives sought to meet Disaster Mitigation needs, final solutions, and lessons learned from the development of leading applications and procedures. Conclusions and recommendations from these discussions will be distilled into a publication that will be presented to International Decision Makers in Disaster Mitigation Planning and Procurement, Regional Political Leaders, and International Non-Governmental Organizations that support Disaster Mitigation programs and funding.
