HONOLULU (20 July 2002) — Hawaii State Senate candidate Lacene Terri joined Windward O`ahu residents for "Kane`ohe Day On The Bay" today. Terri, who is running in District 23 (Kane`ohe to Kawela Bay), met with neighbors and their keiki, setting up a small game with prizes and offering face painting.

Today's event, now in its third year, also celebrated the completion of renovations to the YWCA's Camp Kokokahi facility. It featured live entertainment from local musicians (including Ilona Irvine, Jan Brenner, Kawika Kahiapo, Believe, Paka Smith, and Testify), sailing, kayaking, a petting zoo and pony rides, arts and crafts, food booths, and X-Treme Fun rides.

"Kane`ohe Day on the Bay" was a community partnership of Kane`ohe Community Family Center (PACT), Kama`aina Kids, Marimed Foundation, Windward Missionary Church, New Hope Christian Fellowship, Queen Lili`uokalani Children's Center, Honolulu Community Action Program and YWCA of O`ahu.

Lacene Terri's photos from the event can be found here.
